Chris and Mike in the garden with HugoWe bought our first house in the Gers department of France in June 2006, having really loved the countryside and relaxed way of life we experienced during a visit to family in the area earlier that year. We visited our house at ‘Number 42’ regularly during school holidays and many happy summers were spent in the Gers. Whilst on holiday in August 2015, we visited the Château de Pléhaut which we finally moved into permanently with our large Labradoodle, Hugo, in September 2016. Having lived and worked in Manchester, UK for the previous 30+ years, we continue to enjoy the peace and quiet of Pléhaut and discovering the local villages, music festivals, markets and wide open spaces of the Gers!

We welcomed our first paying guests to our home in April 2017 and have really enjoyed meeting visitors from across the world since then. We live on the first floor of the château and offer either bed and breakfast or self-catering holidays on the second floor of the château or in the gite by the pool. We also offer self-catering breaks in our original family holiday home in nearby Valence sur Baïse. All guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens, first floor terrace, swimming pool and 12 acres of woodland, bordered by the River Baïse, open farmland and a disused railway embankment which is home to red squirrels, deer, rabbits and over 60 different species of birds.

We have consistently received excellent reviews and look forward to welcoming guests over the years to come.

Best Wishes

Chris and Mike
